Concha reduction
Not being able to breath well through the nose may be because of the turbinate. Persistent increasing inflammation in the concha may damage the nasal mucosa. In these cases a small operation with a radiofrequency technique to reduce the turbinate is carried out. In children this is done using general anaesthesia, in older children local anaesthesia is used. Given that radiofrequency is a minimally invasive treatment, bleeding following the operation is almost nonexistent and nasal plugging is not required.
