Otoplasty (Ear correction)
Protruding ears, also called “lop ears" may cause trauma in children who have to deal with teasing from their peers.
In most cases it is a question of insufficient cartilage development. Using a special surgical technique, ears can be returned to their natural shape and moved closer to the head. In children this operation is performed at preschool age in an out-patient procedure and using general anaesthesia.
