Infections in children
Children suffer from uncomplicated infections several times a year in the respiratory tract, tonsillitis and otitis media (middle ear inflammation) with our without swelling in the lymph nodes. In many cases this is because of a viral infection in which taking antibiotics is not necessary. Normally taking anti-inflammatory and antipyretic (fever reducing) medication is sufficient. However, there are also infections for which antibiotics are required. There is always the possibility of taking a culture to determine the cause of an infection.
